Started working mid 1990s with film, both practically and theoretically. Practical as an editors-assistant and runner. Theoretical by several filmcourses. Admitted into The National Danish Filmschool as a director-student in 1997. Graduated from The National Danish Filmschool 2001 as director with the celebrated graduation film FEEDING DESIRE / NÅR LYSTERNE TÆNDES (2001), which won "Best short fiction film" at Odense International Filmfestival 2001. FEEDING DESIRE also won the Student Academy Awards® Honorary Foreign Film Category 2002 (so-called baby-Oscar®), in competition with specially selected films from filmschools all over the world.

Strange-Hansen's next short film, DER ER EN YNDIG MAND / THIS CHARMING MAN scored an Academy Award in 2003. Subsequent writing and directing projects include HVERN DU END ER 92004), REJSEN (co-director) and DEN RETTE ÅND (both 2005), and episodes of the 2006 TV series "Nynne".
