Born in Frederiksværk, Denmark. Screenwriter on a number of Danish feature films, including IN CHINA THEY EAT DOGS / "I Kina spiser de hunde" (2002), and the two Dogme films THE KING IS ALIVE (2000), selected for Un Certain Regard, Cannes, and MIFUNE / "Mifunes sidste sang" (1998), Grand Prix and Silver Bear winner in Berlin. His contribution to short films is also studded with awards: In three consecutive years he had a short film nominated for an Acadamy Award®. These were all written and (or co-) directed by Jensen himself and produced by M & M Productions: ERNST & THE LIGHT / "Ernst & Lyset" (1996), WOLFGANG (1998), and ELECTION NIGHT / "Valgaften" (1998), the latter being recipient of an Oscar®.

Jensen's first feature film was FLICKERING LIGHTS / "Blinkende lygter" (2000, also director). Other writing credits include ZACHARIAS CARL BORG and BEYOND / "Dykkerna" (both also 2000), GREY AXEL (2001), OPEN HEARTS / "Elsker dig for evigt" and WILBUR WANTS TO KILL HIMSELF / "Wilbur begår selvmord" (both 2002), THR GREEN BUTCHERS / "De Grønne slagtere" (also director), SWEET DREAMS / "Skagerrak" and REMBRANDT (all 2003) and BROTHERS / "Brødre" (2004), TOO FAT TOO FURIOUS / "Vet hard", THE SUN KING / "Solkongen", ADAM'S APPLES / "Adams æbler" (also director) and MURK / "Mørke" (all 2005), AFTER THE WEDDING / "Efter Brylluppet" and CLASH OF EGOS / "Sprængfarlig bombe" (both 2006), WITH YOUR PERMISSION / "Til døden os siller" and WHITE NIGHT / "Hvid nat" (both 2007), and THE DUCHESS, FEAR ME NOT / "Den du frygter" and BROTHERS (all scheduled for release in 2008).
