Born in Beverly Hills, CA. Production executive who entered American film as co-producer of THE MANIPULATOR (1971). His television credits include the TV series "Stand Up and Cheer" (1971), "The Wizard of Odds" and "Midnight Special" (both 1973), "Celebrity Sweepstakes" (1974), "The Richard Pryor Show" (1977) and "Whew!" (1979) and "The Richard Pryor Special?" (1977). Other notable film producing/executive producing credits include KISS ME GOODBYE (1982) and EXTREMITIES, CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD and CRIMES OF THE HEART (all 1986).
Sugarman's second wife (1975-1980) was actress Carol Wayne (1942-1985). In 1989, he married TV personality Mary Hart. They have a son, "AJ", born in 1991.
