He worked uncredited as a makeup artist on MARK OF THE VAMPIRE (1935), THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939), THE YOUNGEST PROFESSION (1943) and FATHER OF THE BRIDE (1950). He has over 300 films to his credit as a makeup artist. MGM's makeup director in the 50s and 60s, he designed the horrific Morlock makeup for THE TIME MACHINE (1960) and the diverse guises of Tony Randall in 7 FACES OF DR. LAO (1964). Other makeup design credits include SCARAMOUCHE and THE CLOWN (both 1952), THE NAKES SPUR (1953), THE COBWEB, TRIAL and I'LL CRY TOMORROW (all 1955), special makeup effects artist on "The Twilight Zone" TV series (1959), HOW THE WEST WAS WON (1962), THE PRIZE (1963) and THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE ROY BEAN (1972). His last film as makeup artist was LOVE AT FIRST BITE (1979), and he was a makeup artist on the 1981 TV movie "The People vs. Jean Harris."

 Special Award 1964: "For his outstanding make-up achievement for 7 FACES OF DR. LAO." Winner presented a Statuette.
