Graduated to art director; notable credits include THE BANK DICK (1940), NEVER GIVE A SUCKER AN EVEN BREAK (1941), BETWEEN US GIRLS (1942), HERS TO HOLD (1943), ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES (1944), SUDAN (1945), CANYON PASSAGE (1946), IVY (1947), LARCENY (1948), CALAMITY JANE AND SAM BASS (1949), PEGGY (1950), HOLLYWOOD STORY (1951), THE RAIDERS (1952), THE MISSISSIPPI GAMBLER (1953), SASKATCHEWAN (1954), THIS ISLAND EARTH (1955), THE GREAT MAN (1956), TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR (1957), THE LADY TAKES A FLYER (1958), IMITATION OF LIFE and PILLOW TALK (both 1959), and HELL BENT FOR LEATHER, PORTRAIT IN BLACK and THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ADAM AND EVE (all 1960), plus many of the Universal "Abbott and Costello" and "Francis, the Talking Mule," features (1949 - 1956).
