Malcolm C. Bert
(1902 - 1973)

Art director who was nominated for his first film, A STAR IS BORN (1954). Other notable (non-nominated) credits (alone or in collaboration) include EAST OF EDEN abd REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and THE COURT-MARTIAL OF BILLY MITCHELL (all 1955), THE BIG LAND and THE PAJAMA GAME (both 1957), MARJORIE MORNINGSTAR (1958), THE YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS (1959), CLAUDELLE INGLISH (1961), FOLLOW THAT DREAM (1962), THE ARRANGEMENT (1969), WATERMELON MAN (1970), DOC (1971), DIRTY LITTLE BILLY (1972) and his last film, MYSTERY IN DRACULA'S CASTLE (1973). Bert also worked extensively in television, on series such as "Gunsmoke," "Hazel," "Bewitched," "I Dream of Jeannie," "The Monkees" and "Julia."
