Anthony Dod Mantle

Born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Cinematographer who entered Danish film with KAJ'S FØSELSDAG (THE BIRTHDAY, 1990). He continued to work on the Continent (where he became involved in the Dogma movement) until 2001, and his credits there include DIE TERRORISTEN! (1992), MENNESKEDYRET (THE BEAST WITHIN) and OPERATION COBRA (both 1995), VELO NEGRO (BLACK VEIL) and DE STØRSTE HELTE (THE BIGGEST HERO) (both 1996), DET STORE FLIP (WILD FLOWERS) and NONNEBØRN (AGNUS DEI) (both 1997), TRANCEFORMER: A PORTRAIT OF LARS VON TRIER (1997), FESTEN (1998), MIFUNES SIDSTE SANG (MIFUNE'S LAST SONG), BORNHOLMS STEMME (GONE WITH THE FISH) and JULIEN DONKEY-BOY (all 1999), and MANDEN MED TUBAEN (THE MAN WITH THE TUBA, 2000).

Mantle began working with director Danny Boyle on 2001's "Strumpet" (TV). Their association continued for "Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise" (also 2001, also TV), 28 DAYS LATER... (2002), MILLIONS (2004) and SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (2008).

Mantle's recent work with other directors includes Thomas Vinterberg's IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE (2003), DEAR WENDY (2005) and EN MAND KOMER HJEM (A MAN COMES HOME, 2007); Lars von Trier's DOGVILLE (2003), MANDERLAY (2005), and ANTICHRIST (2009); Birgitte Stærmose's SMÅ SKRED (SMALL AVALANCHES, 2003) and SOPHIE and ISTEDGADE (both 2006); as well as KRIG (2003), BROTHERS OF THE HEAD (2005), THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND (2006), HJERNVE (JUST LIKE HOME, 2007), and TRIP TO ASIA - DIE SUCHE NACH DEM EINKLANG (TRIP TO ASIA: THE QUEST FOR HARMONY) and SVEITABRÚÐKAUP (COUNTRY WEDDING) (both 2008).
