US (2002): Comedy
Following his retirement and a personal tragedy, Warren Schmidt (Jack Nicholson) finds himself questioning the value of the life he has led. A road trip on the way to his daughter's approaching wedding and his interaction with his future son-in-law's eccentric family lead Warren into an uncharacteristic bout of self-examination. Adapted from Louis Begley's novel by Alexander Payne (who also directs) and Jim Taylor; also features Hope Davis, Dermot Mulroney, June Squibb and Howard Hesseman.
