Fredric March reaches the man behind the caricature to portray the roots of Sam Clemens's storytelling art in his wanderings around still-growing America. Olivia de Havilland was first announced to play Olivia Langdon "Livy" Clemens, but was replaced by Alexis Smith. Irving Rapper directs for Warner Bros. Cast also includes Donald Crisp, Alan Hale, C.
